Exhibition Overview
The notion of the individual appears concrete and autonomous at first glance.
The illusion that “I possess experiences and time that belong only to me, never intersecting with yours” has, at some point, drawn a sharp line between you and me.

This exhibition is an attempt to liberate the individual through the methodology of performance.
For this project, two long-time friends—who have always felt a closeness in sensibility, style, and way of thinking despite differences in gender and personality—collaborated to create new works.

It just so happens that I was the one who carried this particular life.
And it just so happens that you were the one who carried yours.
And it just so happens that you were the one who carried yours.
From this perspective, when we look out at society, we find that people are, in some ways, vastly different, yet in other ways, strikingly similar.
To falsify one’s experiences or impersonate another’s existence—to temporarily become someone else—has become increasingly difficult in today’s world.
Acts of empathizing with or speaking on behalf of others without responsibility are often met with criticism.

How impoverished it feels to be only oneself.
The boundary between me and you who are not me is far more ambiguous than we think—and at times, it may even disappear altogether.
